From Local Roots to Global Narratives

The Genesis

Prime Lens Media Hub was born from a singular, powerful vision: to become a leading platform for cultivating diverse media talent across South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and beyond. We recognized that while talent is universal, opportunity is not. Our organization was founded to bridge this gap, specifically to empower individuals to tell impactful stories that shape not only their local communities but global narratives as well.

Laying the Foundation

Our journey began with a clear focus on building a strong infrastructure. We established our headquarters in Johannesburg, Midrand to serve as central hub for creativity. To ensure no story is left untold due to geography, we launched mobile training units designed to reach rural communities directly.

Our story is one of continuous growth and inclusion. We are committed to addressing industry disparities through initiatives like SheShoots, a women-only program designed to close gender gaps in media , and the introduction of “Women in Media” scholarships. As we grow, we are expanding our footprint to three additional South African provinces and partnering with broadcasters and production studios to create real-world pathways for our beneficiaries.

A Global Future

We view media as a global language. Our strategic roadmap includes formalizing exchange programs with media NGOs in Rwanda, Kenya, the UK, and the USA. We are working toward launching the Prime Lens Global Fellowship for our top alumni and creating a podcast network to amplify emerging African voices. Ultimately, we are building a legacy of sustainability, aiming to establish a permanent media innovation hub and the Prime Lens Media Awards to honor young storytellers for years to come.
